Super Series 3 Results!
The previous weekend (18th/19th Apr) was the 3rd BT Super Series finishing the league for Division 1. It was a positive tournament for both London teams. Although it was mixed results for Storm each player got a lot of court time as they only had one sub. The level of fitness was impressive to say the least and the team maintained their 3rd position in the league. Crusaders performance was on top form, victories over all but Crash on the Saturday got them into the final. With a chance to redeem themselves in a re-match against the leagues current number 1, you guessed it… Crash. This was the final I wanted to see at Bernd Best and it wasn’t a disappointment. An awesome game of rugby and of course I'm biased so the result is what I wanted, a 49-41 victory to Crusaders. The overall result not only saved Crusaders from relegation but bumped them up the table to finish 4th in the league. Congratulations to Crash who finished 1st overall becoming Super Series League Champions, a well-deserved title. Also congratulations to Mandip Sehmi who took best in class for his performance as a 2.5 player. Another well-deserved title as Manni was relentless all weekend, good pushing dude.
A fantastic weekend of rugby and I couldn’t think of a better way to finish the season… oh wait, yes I can, the Nationals are less than two weeks away. The first time this tournament is being held at the Copper Box Arena and spectators are more than welcome. With both Divisions attending and tickets being free I'm sure there will be a packed out crowed to offer an atmosphere we’ve never before seen at our Nationals. I for one am looking forward to it.
