Pandemic affect on Wheelchair Rugby Athletes

We are in unprecedented times, at first it felt as though the world stopped spinning. Now, as most of England is in tier 4, I feel there's a bit of time ahead before we're rolling like we used to.


During this pandemic, like most sports, Wheelchair Rugby had to hit the restart button in order to train in the safest way possible. LondonWRC had our risk assessment signed off and everything else needed to get back at it. We even set a date, unfortunately it turned out to be two days after the second lockdown was announced. So we cancelled our return but on the bright side, we're all ready to go on the governments say so. Read more >>

SS3 Division 3 - LondonWRC Write Up

The Super Series season has concluded for Division 3 and London Lions are Champions! After another clean sweep of victories we topped the table and took the gold. For our last day of matches we headed to Leicester, after a team dinner and a nights stay we made way to Braunstone Leisure Centre. Read more >>

SS2 Division 1 - LondonWRC Write Up

The second super series for the top division of GB Wheelchair Rugby was held at the home of Paralympics Stoke Mandeville Stadium. After taking a look at the new National Paralympic Heritage Centre I rolled into the sports hall, the place where I first saw wheelchair rugby over a decade ago. I was now here to film and take pics of the two London teams who I also assist with coaching. So of course my hopes were high on Storm and Crusaders performing well. Read more >>

Super Series 1 – Division 1

This weekend (11/12 Jan) the GB domestic season begins for the top eight wheelchair rugby clubs. Division 1 tips off with the first of three super series and we're heading to Morningside Leicester Arena. LondonWRC Storm and Crusaders will be competing amongst the best to start the season well and get points on the table. There will definitely be tough competition with Tigers being undefeated last season and Crash placing third splitting our Cru and Storm who are looking forward to the competition. Read more >>
