Happy New Year! Last Year Write-Up
So it’s the start of 2015 and with LondonWRC celebrating our 25th Anniversary take a look at the roundup of last year…
Starting with the Super Series results, London was very pleased to top the table with an undefeated Storm but it seems this season will be even tougher although we’re still aiming to get both teams in the top 5.
Taking 3rd at Bernd Best certainly wasn’t an awful result but London will be looking to regain our dominance in the European tournaments.
Giving congratulations to London members Chris Ryan in securing GB Vice-Captain and Matt Hignett who received a spot on GB Dev Squad. It goes without saying we’re grateful to all our players and support staff who turn up for training to push hard or help out, we really do appreciate it.
Matt Hignett also lifted the weight of a whale for the charity Aspire, lifting over 150,000kg in six weeks Matt raised over £250 pound. Cheers Matt! London would also like to give a special thank you to Aspire, who not only continue to support us but numerous amounts of people who have spinal injuries. Thank you Aspire!

LondonWRC now have a Youtube channel with a variation of videos. We’ll be adding a lot more this year but we’re looking at you, the Wheelchair Rugby Community to tell us what videos you want to see. If you have any ideas please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or tweet on our social media pages… Facebook - Twitter
We held a number of taster sessions at Stoke Mandeville attempting to get LondonWRC back training at the home of Wheelchair Rugby. Although the numbers were positive we’re still looking for new players, if you know anyone in or around the London area who are interested in playing please do send them our way.
As we say goodbye to another year LondonWRC is charging into 2015 with a positive mental attitude. We are part of an ever growing sport and we look forward to all our players progressing, whether it be competitive or personal, LondonWRC are proud of you.
